{ Meet Shalyce Oman... }

Meet Shalyce Oman, a 24-year old Tennessee native who now calls St. George, UT home.  She works as a Health Educator for the Southwest Utah Public Health Department and she also regularly maintains an entertaining blog called Simply Shabby Shalyce.  When Shalyce was little she always dreamed of having a job that required her to wear a suit and carry a briefcase.  In elementary school she would always tell people she wanted to be a lawyer because she knew it was a respected career, given the attire. In high school she wanted to do something medical—psychologist, dermatologist, nurse anesthetist until she quickly realized she didn’t have the stomach for something clinical but wanted to do something that improves others’ quality of life.  She ended up graduating with her Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration with a minor in Personal Health and Wellness. Now her goal is to have a desire to serving others while being successful in business which is what she does everyday.

In Shalyce's own words "I would like the opportunity to date Kent because he seems like a genuine guy who could become my best friend. I want to be with someone who enriches my life and I can enrich theirs by participating in each other’s interests. Kent and I both enjoy being active. I don’t feel like my day is complete without a long run or time in the gym. He is dedicated to his future career and he appears to be a fighter; I need to know that the person that I am with can stand by me through life’s trials and we can grow closer together because of them. I want to be with someone who appreciates me, respects me, and strives to be a better husband and father. I want to make someone’s life easier by making him laugh on a daily basis and supporting him in his dreams and aspirations.

Most importantly, I am interested in dating Kent because he puts the Lord first. I believe the root of happiness and a successful marriage is having a gospel-centered life. Kent would be a constant reminder to me off this and vice versa."
